Looking Outside...

I am going through a pity party phase that I'm trying to break. There are just several things that are not going as I had planned and so I'm being generally pissy. I just need to get over it. I have been playing with my dog a lot today and wish I could be spending time with my husband this weekend, but so far he's in more of a hibernating mode and sleeping a lot. He had a stressful week last week (interview for big job). He already has a job, just looking to move up in the world. As a result, I spent most of last week cheering him on and helping him get prepared. I love helping him, but I'm worn out too and just trying to find outlets... I had a busy work week and am feeling, more than ever, the sting of my overwhelming fear of driving. As some of you will recall I thought I'd have a car by now to practice with and gain confidence. I do not. I'm trying to be patient, but it's difficult. In the mean time, I am trying too look outside myself so I don't wallow and stew.. In the spirit of this, I borrowed the following from Kain. (Modified & shortened)... If you comment to this post:

1. I'll respond with something random I like about you.

2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.

3. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you.

4. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.

5. If I do this for you, you must (please) post this on your journal so you can do the same for other people.

Ahhhh bribery… xo S

Yes, I agree... my dog is absolutely essential to my well being. Ok... so here it goes...
1. I like that you use ellipses a lot... I do the same...
2. Hmmm... think I'll go with a song... James Blunt - "High"
3. I'll quote ee cummings
maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach (to play one day)
and maggie discovered a shell that sang so sweetly she couldn’t remember her troubles, and
milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;
and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:and may came home with a smooth round stone as small as a world and as large as alone.
For whatever we lose(like a you or a me)it’s always ourselves we find in the sea
4. Well, we've known each other sooo long... jk. I'd like to know if you could dance to any song, right now, what would it be?

Ok, after I get back from grocery shopping, I'll get to Heidi... promise! :o)

My husband is in academia (a prof). He was applying for a directorship that would put him in a more administrative role. From the sounds of it, interviews in that environment are even bigger waste of time than in the corporate world. I gave him little pop questions. He was prepared for so much more than they threw him. ;o) Of course, that's because I am a fairly evil interviewer. I am sooo glad I don't have to hire/fire anymore...

Oddly enough, I have a character in a story named "Sarafina" -- thanks for dropping by my blog. My laptop wasn't dead; it was just in a light coma, from which it has now awakened. *whew*
